Bunk Bed Comforters
Tips For Choosing Bunk Bed Comforters
Bunk beds are extremely popular with parents of children
under the age of thirteen. Parents with multiple
children also enjoy the ease and space saving bunk beds
provide. The bunk bed comforter is basically the same as
any twin sized comforter. There is no difference in the
bunk bed comforter and a twin comforter. Choosing a bunk
bed comforter is a bit different however, as there are
two beds to outfit separately, but make them work
together as well.
Some parents love to use matching bunk bed comforters.
This is really a good idea and offers a simple style.
You cannot go wrong if both comforter sets match
completely. It is a good idea for those who are not
comfortable with their designing skills or simply like a
uniform look. It offers a clean look for any bunk beds.
This may not work well for children who are more
independent however. If you have two children who are
into different things, then they may frown at the idea
of having matching bedding. So, as a parent it is
something to consider.
If you would rather not match the bunk bed bedding, then
consider coordinating it. Coordinating is different than
matching in that the bedding does not need to be exactly
the same, but it should work well together on a design
level. For instance, if you use plaid checkered bedding
for your beds, you can use a red plaid for one bed and a
blue for the other. As long as the plaids are from the
same line and are the same style, the colors don’t
matter. They coordinate together well.
This can also work when wanting different patterns such
as stripes and polka dots. You can use two different
patterns if they work well together in color. It does
not mean that both need to be the same color, it just
means their colors should work together in the room’s
design. The only way to get this one right is to
experiment and use your best design judgment. If you are
uncomfortable with your design skills, this may not be
the best option for you when dressing your bunk beds.
Most bunk beds will come apart to make two separate twin
sized beds. When buying bedding, consider what the
bedding would be like on a single bed as well. Make sure
that you buy age appropriate bedding, but also bedding
that will grow with the child. For instance, many
parents make the mistake of spending large amounts of
money on cartoon bedding, only to have their children
outgrow the style in a year. Be sure to use styles and
patterns that will last at least a few years.
A good bunk bed comforter is one that either matches or
coordinates with the other bunk bed comforter. It is
also one that is age appropriate but will grow with the
child using it. You can find great bunk bed comforters
at your local department or general merchandise stores.
Remember, look for simple styles that will last a few
years!!
