Boy Comforter Set
Deciding on a Boy Comforter Set
What is a parent to do? Your son is growing out of his
current tastes of Bob the Builder and his fascination
with that purple dinosaur is waning (thank goodness!).
Deciding on a boy comforter set is hard when a young
boy’s preferences are changing. Plus, you have the decor
of an entire room to consider. What strategy can you use
in redecorating your son’s room to reflect his changing
tastes, yet have it last for a few more years until he
gets to his teen years? The boy comforter set is a key
component when re-doing his bedroom.
Dinosaurs are often an attraction to young boys. There
are a plethora of things you can do to convey that feel
of being back in the age of dinosaurs. Display dinosaur
replica models around the room. Hang some artificial
green ferns or palm tree leaves from the ceiling to give
it a realistic feel. Paint a T-Rex or stegosaurus on the
wall or purchase removable wall clings that reflect the
prehistoric age. The boy comforter set can be in a
variety of colors that also have dinosaur or prehistoric
characters on it. For instance, the boy comforter set
could have dinosaur pictures on it that have a lot of
grays and blacks or it could be more of nature’s colors
like browns, greens and blues.
The boy comforter set could show off a Western theme.
Some little guys want to be cowboys when they grow up
and what better way to lasso that feeling than with a
denim boy comforter set. Denim goes with practically
anything. The Western theme could be reflected with a
hitching post bed, made with rough hewn posts to create
the four corners. Display various rope knots around the
room and use red bandanas for valances and cheap straw
cowboy hats for the lamp shades.
Other things to consider about the boy comforter set are
whether to have an actual room theme on the bedding. For
instance, if you have a construction theme, do you
really want to have bulldozers, construction cones and
front-end loaders all over the boy comforter set? When a
boy’s taste matures, he will not want it anymore.
Perhaps the best approach is to buy a boy comforter set
in solid colors along with a neutral pattern or two.
That way, you can just decorate in whatever theme you
want and the bedding can pick up some of the colors used
throughout the rest of the room. When your son grows up
some more, you can just change the decor of the room
while keeping the boy comforter set because it does not
reflect any dated preferences.
Ensure that the materials used in the creation of the
boy comforter set are resilient and long-lasting. Boys
are rough and tough and can be hard on furniture and
other items. Having easy care items that can be machine
washed and dried are a godsend to busy parents. Your son
will be pleased too, if you include him in the decision
process. Let him know of your budget for purchasing a
boy comforter set for his room. He will be happy to be
able to “plan” his own room and your pocketbooks won’t
suffer either.
