Waterbed Bedding
Finding Stylish, Affordable Waterbed Bedding
Quality waterbed bedding, such as a comforter, is one of the most important bedding accessories you have when anticipating a good night sleep. Unfortunately,
waterbed bedding isn’t always as simple as throwing the first blanket you find over the bed; finding the right waterbed comforter for you can take a bit of effort, but it’s well worth it.
The only thing that really separates a waterbed sheet set or comforter is what are commonly referred to as tucks, tabs, straps, or flaps that hold the waterbed bedding in place. These tabs are necessary because a waterbed is not solid and firm, and typical sheets would just roll right off as you lay across the bed. You’ll know you truly have a waterbed comforter if it has these stay-on-the-bed tucks, tab, straps, or flaps. Typically, if the waterbed bedding do not have these modifications specifically for waterbeds, they will not stay put and you’ll end up frustrated and wrapped in a waterbed comforter and sheets. Bottom line, don’t be fooled into thinking you can buy any old comforter and sheets for your water bed or you’re likely to end up frustrated and right back where you started!
Shopping for waterbed bedding wouldn’t be so difficult, if more stores carried a decent waterbed sheets, comforters, and other accessories, but they don’t! You’ll probably need to find a local specialty bedding supply store, or a waterbed store would be even better. Even linen stores don’t always carry waterbed bedding, so if you aren’t sure, it’s a good idea to call ahead of time.
If you do not have any waterbed bedding suppliers in your area, the internet is also a great resource for this type of specialty bedding. In fact, you may have better luck on the Internet than in local stores because you can find deeply discounted comforters, as well as a wide selection of fabrics, prints, and colors. Once you have found a store, either locally or on the Internet, you may want to order a new bedding set once a year or so that you don’t have to panic if something happens to the comforter you currently use. Also, if you order more than one, you’ll be able to rotate to minimize wear.
Waterbed bedding comforter can cost as little or as much as you want it to depending on what sort of fabric, thread count, and brand name. Of course, when you don’t have a lot of options as to where you can shop, you are at the mercy of the bedding supplier. But, if you don’t want to break the bank you really don’t have to, you might just have to shop around a little bit longer and be willing to negotiate on the color or fabric just a bit. A waterbed comforter usually retails around one hundred dollars or more, although you may be able to find them for a bit less on the Internet even after shipping and handling.
People who love their waterbeds may have to work a bit harder to find a quality waterbed bedding supplier, but it’s well worth it for that comfortable night sleep we all dream of.
It doesn’t matter what type of bed you have, you should not have to compromise your comfort, style, or the function of the bedding. Search for a great place to get your comforter and enjoy!
