Crib bedding is one of the best ways to decorate the nursery for your infant. Because there are so many different types of crib bedding, every parent can lovingly choose the bedding that they think will be most suitable for their child. Choosing the bedding for the nursery is almost an unspoken right of passage into parenting, it’s one of the first big decisions you’ll make. Obviously, the decisions that follow are more important, but at the time, choosing bedding can be a huge undertaking so you are sure you are getting it just right.
When choosing crib bedding for your little bundle of joy, you’ll probably want to take gender into consideration. While many parents don’t consider the gender of their child an influence on bedding, many parents like the classic pink for girls and blue for boys. Knowing the gender may help you pick out really girly bedding or very boyish crib bedding. If you don’t know the gender it’s not like you cannot get beautiful crib bedding, you’ll just have to play on different colors and more neutral patterns or characters. Good ideas for neutral characters are teddy bears, balloons, or even the beloved Disney characters.
Crib bedding can be bought as individual pieces or as a set. Obviously, buying as a set will save you money and they are often the same quality and just as cute as the pieces that are sold separately. Crib bedding sets usually include a bumper pad, comforter, sheets, and sometimes even a dust ruffle.
Every now and then you might find a crib bedding set that also includes wall hangings or an extra blanket that matches the set. When you buy the crib bedding sets you can save as much as twenty-five perfect off of what you’d pay if you bought each piece separately, because new babies are so expensive it’s a good idea to take the savings where you can get it!
You can find crib bedding at most stores that carry baby items, clothing, or bedding items. Crib bedding is a big seller, so most retail stores that have a reason to carry it, will. How much you pay for the crib bedding is what will vary the most. If you want only name brand crib bedding, you’ll pay more than if you went to Wal-mart to buy your crib bedding. When you are shopping for the bedding, keep in mind how much the baby will actually use it and you might find that the cheaper bedding varieties make more sense for you and your baby.
Whatever style or brand of crib bedding you buy, keep the safety of your baby in mind. Be sure that the blankets or other bedding won’t pose a threat to babies who aren’t yet able to roll over. Safety should be the first concern when buying your babies bedding, and style and color should be what you look at next. Have fun buying your baby his or her bedding, before long it will be a distant memory.
