Cheap Kid Comforter
Saving Money With a Cheap Kid Comforter
Redecorating a child’s room can be a lot of fun, but
it’s sensible to think about how to cut corners to save
money since children tend to be hard on their things,
and will likely want to change the look of their room in
a year or two. One way to cut corners is with a cheap
kid comforter. A cheap kid comforter can still be
attractive; it just saves a bit of money for new paint,
or other decorations. Also, with a cheaper comforter it
won’t be a big deal if it gets ripped, stained, or wears
out quickly.
The prices on kid’s comforters have really come down in
recent years. Big box retailers such as Wal-Mart and
Target have begun selling these items for very
reasonable prices, and other stores have had to follow
suit to continue to compete for customers. Luckily,
quality hasn’t changed as much as the prices and you can
buy an attractive, quality kid comforter for next to
nothing.
Because kids are so hard on their blankets, staining and
ripping them, most parents are reluctant to spend a
great deal of money on a new comforter. Even the most
financially secure parent would rather invest in a cheap
kid comforter than to have something more expensive
ruined in a matter of weeks or months. It just makes
more sense, and because you don’t have to give up much
in the way of style or quality, why not save the money?
At Wal-Mart and similar places you can buy a cheap kid
comforter for less than twenty dollars for a twin, give
or take ten or twenty dollars depending on what you
choose. Really, that’s not a bad price at all! A
comforter changes the whole look and feel of the room
and if you can do that for twenty to forty dollars it’s
something to be excited about.
With bed in a bag deals,
where the cheap kid comforter is coupled with matching
sheets, pillow cases, and often a bed skirt, you can get
the whole deal for fifty to seventy dollars which is a
steal also. Twenty dollars for the most up to date and
popular characters is definitely a great buy.
If you want to go even cheaper than that you can simple
take an existing comforter that may not be attractive
but is still holding together and slip a cheap duvet
cover over it. A duvet cover is better than a cheap kid
comforter because it works with what you already have
but usually costs around ten dollars for a twin size
cover. If you can’t find a cheap duvet cover that your
child likes, you can help them find a cheap set of
sheets that they like. With a cheap set of sheets you
can make your own duvet cover by sewing them together
and covering your existing comforter.
As you can see, a cheap kid comforter really is more
practical than dropping a couple hundred dollars. As
children get older, you might be more comfortable with
spending a bit more, but in the mean time you can
decorate a room nicely with a less expensive comforter
and no one will be the wiser!
