Red Print Comforter Set
Seeing Red in Bed
What do you think of when you think of the color red?
Passion, spice, heat, sexiness, daring and boldness are
just a few words that come to my mind when I think of
the color red. So, when you are trying to spice up your
bedroom what could be a better color than red? A red
print comforter set can be used in multiple ways to set
the tone for your boudoir.
Ethnic Inspired
Do you crave a bit of the exotic? Why not choose a red
print comforter set with an ethnic feel for your
bedroom. Lovely sets can be found in Asian, Polynesian,
Native American, and African prints. After you choose
the set that most appeals to you, find accent pieces to
accessorize your room.
Paint the room in a complimentary tone like suede or try
a faux finish to add texture and depth. Then maybe
choose a lovely Asian screen, bamboo arrangement or
candles in simple holders to accent an Asian theme.
Perhaps some scenic black and white photographs of the
southwest to emphasize a Native American theme, or try
some tribal masks or handmade drums to add interest in
an African themed room. Choose just a few accent pieces
so that you do not overwhelm the room.
Keep it simple
Choose a red print comforter set that pleases you, and
then make it the focus of your room. Paint in a neutral
complimentary color and choose neutral accessories to
keep the focus on the bed. Then load the bed up with
matching or tonal sheets, bed skirt and pillows to
emphasize the red in the bed.
Also choose your comforter set in a sumptuous fabric and
indulge in some high thread count sheets--simple does
not have to mean Spartan. Simple and clean lines in
furniture and monochromatic candles will also help add
atmosphere without becoming distractions. If you would
like to add atmosphere without adding objects, use
scents. Scented candles in a spicy or warm fragrance can
easily help set a mood in the bedroom.
Contrast
Be bold and be modern. Choose a bold geometric print or
a bold solid red and accessorize with modern furniture.
Try bold vases in red, white black and vivid colors.
Sculptures are also a great accessory. Glam up the
fabrics by using velvets, satins and heavier sateen
finished cottons. You can even choose a bold color like
orange to accent the room. Add a few pillows and an
accessory or two in your chosen accent color to bring
all parts of the look together.
Romance
If you prefer a romantic feel consider a Victorian era
theme. Choose a deep burgundy for your red print
comforter set. Accent the room with vases of flowers and
candles set on whimsical holders. Choose furniture in
darker stains with ornate carvings or hardware. Damask
fabrics and layers of bed coverings in shades of red
will add to the romantic feel. Consider a floral print
mixed with stripes or solids.
Whatever your reasons for changing your bedroom style,
red in the bedroom is about adding something bold and
passionate or romantic or cultural. Experiment with your
best red.
